Labels, if only initially, can be helpful. Stay with me for a moment while I explain. Some labels that I resonate with are empath, starseed, highly sensitive person (HSP), introvert, Reiki practitioner, healer, earth angel, old soul, and more. Those labels let you, the reader, know some things about me. They are a starting point for you to evaluate if you want to spend time reading what I have posted or if you want to move on because it does not resonate with you at all. I am not suggesting that I identify with every single thing found under the definitions of what I listed above or that those labels encompass all that I am, that is just one fault with labels in the first place, but it is a starting point for those searching, for those who have felt lost and misunderstood for a very long time until they stumble upon some information that helps them to realize that there are others out there like them, even though they may only be found on the internet. Why might that be?

Pure speculation on my part, but I think it can be hard to find likeminded people because we are all in varying stages of development. If we are just starting out on our journey or are in a tough part our journey we may not be as “out there” as someone who is a bit further along in their journey. The problem is many of us may feel alone and isolated while going through incredibly difficult things (sometimes we have felt this way our entire lives to date) and think that there is no one out there who could possibly understand us or what we are going through because we don’t see anyone like us in our physical reality. We don’t see them in our family. We don’t see them in our “friends” group. We don’t see them in our workplace. We don’t see them in college. We don’t see them anywhere that we are while going about our day to day lives. This may cause us to wonder what is wrong with us. Why are we so different? Why can’t we fit in? Why can’t we be normal? We may look at ourselves from a deficiency perspective because that is what others have projected upon us our entire lives because we are different from them. Differences are often not valued by the collective.

However, I think that we came here first to learn and go through certain experiences, and then move on towards positively influencing and helping the collective. We can’t do that if we are on the same wavelength. If we are all sleepwalking, there’s no one to wake humanity up. Some people will be asleep, and some people will be awake. Those who are awake, will help those who are just starting to wake up. Those of us who are awake have been awake for quite some time. This will resonate with you if you identify with any of the terms that I used earlier in my post.

It has never been a better time to be a square peg that does not fit into the round hole. We were never meant to fit; we were meant to stand out. We will feel less conflicted about that when we get to the point where we can accept and value ourselves- all of ourselves.
